A First settler of Salem, Canada, now called,

Lyndeborough, New Hampshire.

Religion: Quaker

p710: John Cram, son of Thomas and Elizabeth

(Weare) Cram, born at Hampton Falls, MA, Jan 12,

1685; married Feb 18 1707, Sarah, daughter of

Henry and Sarah (Ballard) Holt of Andover, MA.

She was born at Andover, Aug 17 1678 and died at

Lyndeborough, Oct 01, 1757. He died at Amherst,

1759. So far as authentic records show, he was the

first settler in Salem - Canada, now, Lyndeborough.

chapter XXXIII. the three older children were born

at Hampton Falls. The others at Woburn, MA.

1a) Nathaniel Weare, Honorable,

1b)son of Nathaniel,

1c)and early proprietor of Newbury, Mass., was

1d) born in England, 1631;

1e) married Dec 3, 1656, Elizabeth,

daughter of Richard Swayne;

1f) lived a few years in Newbury,

1g) and in 1662 removed to Hampton, which was

thenceforth his home, having received

a conveyance of land from his father - in-law,

who had then gone to Nantucket.

2) Mr. Weare settled at what is now Fogg's Corner, in

Seabrook, where David Chase lives. A remarkably

handsome elm, which he probably set out,

adorns the place. He was one of the most

influential men in the town and throughout

the province.

3) We have seen how, in the troublous times of

Cranfield and Mason, he went as agent,

twice, to england, to lay the people's grievances before

the king (Chap. V.)
